I’ve had 3 other music teachers and none come close to Derek. He is tremendously talented and has a very flexible approach. The result is that I get lessons that EXACTLY match my interests and style of learning. Sometimes it’s theory, sometimes it’s fingering approach, sometimes it’s a note interval or riff I can’t get. Derek’s comfortable teaching all styles of music and has a very gifted ear. He is supportive and enthusiastic to a fault and I have yet to detect even a shred of impatience (I ask a lot of questions). I finish every lesson more enthusiastic about music and learn things I could never have found in books or by practice alone. I honestly don't know how the lessons could be any better.
